Actually these came on both 4 spd and automatic 442s. My 71 has a set on it and it's an automatic.

The 'A' body rear crossmember reinforcement braces were typically found on heavy duty or performance suspensions regardless of transmission type. These braces stiffen the frame from the lower control arm forward mounting point.
