Not sure it is always the case but in my experience the 71-2 hood is much harder to find than the 70. Would be a great trade for someone needing a 71-2 hood.

When you factor in that all of the Rallyes and W-31s had them, which were not available in '71/'72 as well as more 442s produced in '70 than '71/'72 with the opportunity to have the W-25 option, you can see why there are more '70 hoods than '71/'72.

Not to mention how many 70 442 and Cutlass Pace Cars there were.

hmmmm, That's tempting. i'd love a hood for the Cutlass, yet part of me wants to be the 1 in 1,000,000 that leaves the stock plain hood on there as the car came. Its the 72 hood without the cowl vents or anything. But these ram air hoods really add to tge presence of the car - at least to me it does.

JMO but I think the price of the 71-72 hoods are suppressed by the availability of the Thornton hood for those years. Interesting that they used the non-OAI stripe and installed the script. GLWTS

71-72 hood

Agreed, but for someone restoring a proper car, I'm guessing GM would be the only option. The Thorton hoods are nice, but there are differences to the originals.
