70 71 72 Cutlass Convertible Decklid

Removed from a 71 Cutlass Convertible. Was bead blasted and primed years ago. Light surface rust as shown in pics, no rot. No dents. Weird reflection above lock cylinder makes it look damaged but it is not. Includes mounting bolts.

$250 plus the ride. Can box it and FedEx it or can pick up locally. I am located 40 miles north of Detroit.

Yes, it is the same as a Supreme lid except the front corners are rounded.

No, as stated above the Supreme is different.

Does it have holes for the Cutlass logo on the right bottom?

For some reason it seems the convertible and the 4-door have the same trunklid. Seems odd but I think I read that.

Yes, they both mount/fit the same have the rounded front corners. There is a difference in the trim for different years/models, though.

The '70 Supreme has a Cutlass script on the lower right corner and a rocket emblem around the key hole. '71-'72 Supremes have OLDSMOBILE lettering across the lower edge (same as hardtops) whereas the 4 doors don't have the individual letters. I think the various 4 door models each use different trim, but I am not certain about that.

Back on the market. Never heard back from the buyer after sending a shipping cost. To give an idea, east of the Mississippi to the southern states is $150 from FedEx. FedEx freight shipping was over $250. From what I've been told (I think by Fastenal), Fastenal does not ship body parts. Anybody know this to be true? I was able to box the deck lid using two flat screen TV boxes and well protect all corners for shipping.

Not sure about fastenal but I've shipped body parts on greyhound before.

Fastenal requires body parts to be protected by crate. I bought doors and they came to me with a2x4 cage like setup on a skid. Can't hang over edge of skid.

No holes on outside so trim /emblem holes have been welded up? What year was this off originally?

I will check but I don't think the holes were welded up. Was off a 71 Cutlass Supreme convertible. It was bead blasted and primed years ago.

No signs of the holes having been welded up. It had a molding across the bottom edge, nothing else.

An original 71 Supreme deck lid from either a convertible or a hard top would have 20 holes across the bottom - two holes for each of the O L D S M O B I L E letters.

If it were a NOS deck lid then it may not have any holes drilled, but I am not certain about that. I think the lid I bought for my 70 Supreme back in 1982 had the holes for the Cutlass script and the rocket emblem drilled, but that was a very long time ago and I don't have a clear memory of the holes.

Molding across bottom edge probably means Cutlass 4 door, or non-Supreme convertible, if there was such a thing.
