'71-2 Cutlass Sport Mirrors - Super nice pair - SOLD

Edit: SOLD

Here is a pair of '71-'72 Sport Mirrors I have prepped....these are the correct mirrors with the correct pedestals and black plastic mounting "plates" that go b/n the bottom of the pedestals and the door skin.

Professionally prepped and ready for paint. No dings, gouges, pits, etc.

>Stripped bare - COMPLETELY--outside and INSIDE the mirror housings and pedestals and sprayed with PPG DP50 Grey Catalyzed Epoxy Primer. Sanded down to get rid of the typical minor factory "defects" that reveal themselves when you strip these diecast mirrors and then cleaned and sprayed again with the same primer. Not "over done" in that the casting lines on the pedestals are still present and visible.

>These were in nice shape to start with but had original paint on them, a repaint and then some cheapo spray can primer.

>P side mirror pivots nicely on the pivot ball...not loose and not stuck/stiff. D side remote mechanism/stalk/cables move nice and smooth.

>New stainless machine bolts that attach the pedestals to the mirror and housing.

>Door panel chrome bezel does have some minor bubbling in the insert area that may not be visible in the pic but these are available new/repro if you want a perfect one...may also be a somewhat common NOS part since these bezels were used on a lot of Abodies.

>Remote chrome "stalk" handle is nice....not perfect but not all rusty/bubbled. It does have a slight bend in it that could be straightened out.

>Black plastic door mounting plates - these are originals from a '72 442 convertible so they're the right thickness and profile.

>Pedestal mounting brackets and chrome screws - present and accounted for....nice condition and I can have the mounting plates replated in yellow zinc if you want that done.

>Mirrors themselves are nice but have the typical fine surface scratching you see on used mirrors. The black plastic mounting plates that the mirrors are attached to are NICE...no overspray, old paint, etc....nice and shiny black original finish.

>The 2 chrome screws that hold the chrome remote stalk bezel to the door panel aren't in the pics nor is the "horseshoe" retainer clip that holds the remote stalk to the back of the bezel....I have these and they will be included.

Again - nice pieces with the time consuming prep work done and DONE RIGHT. Mirror housings and pedestals are READY FOR PAINT and will be SLICK looking once painted.

$175 + shipping OR can deliver to OCA Nats if you pay up front.

Check or MO...no paypal.
