Olds 350 HP engine 48911 $2500

NOT MINE and I have no stake in it
I met a guy who says he has a rebuilt Olds 350 that dyno'd 430 HP "at the rear wheels" - which is hard to believe.

I asked for heads' ID and maybe the dyno paperwork.

He would like to sell it and is asking $2500 ?

If there is any interest I will provide his Ph # via PM and you can work out the details. I could inspect I guess....

He's mistaken or lying. A 350 Olds engine that made 430 to the ground is making well over 500 hp at the crank and doesn't get sold for $2500 unless it blew up.

Yeah I didn't want to point out the fallacy of 400+ rear wheel HP from a naturally aspirated 350. I just relay the informaton.

It was posted Thursday, no April Fools here.

I will agree that it is spendy unless done up real right, and the power claim is, uhm, shall we say, in need of verification.

If anyone wants to look into it PM me.

Perhaps a better deal:

https://lansing.craigslist.org/pts/5520797574.html

"Have two 350 Oldsmobile engine's one runs strong good block cylinders have homing marks still in the cylinders I put #7 heads on it 1969-68 w-30 cam lobes good needs intake did not put on very well had wife and kids help out with that part and it did not turn out well lol.

Heads came off a 1970 olds 350 the 70 motor sat for long time tried the heads anyways could use some freshening up . But runs good sounds good .

The other one is a 350 as well #8 heads turns free I have never heard run. Will trade for a 350 chevy or Chevy parts the first olds motor has a 400 turbo trans rebuilt and good. Or what do you have.

Or $500 for both engines and trans basically by the good motor and trans get the other motor for free."

$500 for two engines and transmissions seems too good to be true.

Well, only one is "a runner" and that seems questionable based on the description. Reading between the lines I hear a set of 7 heads and a motor that turns. The spray can rebuild with little masking does not give me a lot of confidence. One would have to have more details to see what-all is there and in what condition.
