The 70 442 intake has a part # that reads 404521 D1V with a large L up front.
Or at least mine does, Fremont built car. No idea what the part #'s for the 88 or 98
would be.

They are all the same '66-'72 except Toronados. The only difference is divorced choke or hot air choke. The aluminum W30 intake has exactly the same internal dimensions.
At 62 pounds if you fly with the cast iron version it exceeds the weight limit and there are extra charges (a friend gave me a '72 version on a visit).

I just sent a 68-69 J Casting intake from Iowa to east cost Fed ex Ground for $35. I also have a 70-71 Casting 407567 with 4 speed only vacuum port at front.

"ALL THE SAME" may be a little inaccurate, even with the qualifier about the choke types.

Among the non-Toro BB intakes:

A - 2-bbl 1965
B - square bore pre-QJet

D - 66-67 2-bbl
E - 66-67 4-bbl. One coolant switch hole, Div. Ch.
F - 66 3x2 [similar '65 and '67 more rare versions also]

J - '69 H/O only
J - '68-9 all other RWD BB apps, Div. Ch., TWO coolant switch holes

2-3 variations of the aluminum 70-72 W30 intake, often no letter ID

L - 70/71 2-bbl
P - 71 2bbl

R - 70/72 4-bbl
U - 72 4-bbl

Then after 1972 is the ubiquitous "W" casting with EGR, and some more rare X & Y castings.

Then they had to stop making BB's because they were out of letters.

A number of significant differences, functionally.
And, I will take a J-405233 at the price of a J-398662 if they are all the same....

Wonder if it was an early SX intake?

Thank you for that, I thought the H was used only 68-9

After '69 to even see a 2-bbl is rare as hell.

Another intake letter code that was not mentioned FYI. has the letter "T" for 1972 455CI applications. Also the letter "A" will most likely be the letter on 455CI aluminum intakes.

The 70 iron intakes that bring any money are the four speed ones. I have no idea what makes them different but I sold this one for $100 ten years ago. I don't even remember the casting number

Cast iron intake

Yes I know there are many small differences in codes, choke styles and casting numbers. One previous post asked if the 88, 98 intake was the same. I was only referring to how much power they made. I believe there is no significant difference in power output between factory 4bbl intakes. Has anyone ever swapped a Toro intake for a regular intake and then a W30 intake?
