Stripping '63 98 Sport Coupe
Stripping '63 98 Sport Coupe. Pretty decent black bucket seat/console interior with a few small flaws. Good running 394 345 horse engine that smokes a bit. Rusty frame, bad brakes and steering, rotten exhaust, previous owner says the trans slips. Nice looking inside 3.42 open rear dropout pumpkin. Doors are o.k., some rust bubbling on front edge above body line on passenger side. Good glass. Diecast trim pitted. Presently I'm cutting this car up as I have to get it out of my friend's shop, will save anything I think is worth saving.

I would also like to know if it has tilt steering and if the pumpkin is a posi pod?
Steve
Don, the 98 has a large rocker moulding that the wheel well moulding connects to so both front and rear mouldings would be to short, if I remember correctly the super 88 has the same stainless wheel well mouldings and the same rocker moulding.

Will get some pictures taken of parts today and post tomorrow. Left side dual exhaust manifold is good and has the separate heat riser valve (not stuck), $275 for that. Windshield is good, maybe some real faint wiper burn marks that I can't catch my fingernail on, could be polished out, $100 for that. Don't know if it's cost effective to ship a windshield to Florida, box would be really big and even if I package it really well still pretty risky as far as breakage. Car has a floor shift tilt, but it's really loose and sloppy, haven't investigated why that is yet. Floors are very solid, would be nice if someone near by needed those as I hate to cut them up for scrap. I can be reached at 414-761-3552, leave a message if you get the machine.

Side and rear glass is all good, but has had dark tint film applied to inside. looks like a decent job and is in good shape if you are into really dark tinted windows. Also, here's the deck lid which looks real decent.

That's what I was afraid of, thanks Steve.

Interior looks spectacular. Wish I would have known about it, before I bought the one I have. Buckets seats and con sole, would have been super cool, in my 98. Fabric appears to be same as the '64 98 interior I bought.
Amazing how northern cars rust quicker, but their interiors last much longer, than down here, in the southern climates. Guess you just gotta put 2 and 2 together. (that's exactly what I did)

There are a few blems in that interior. The rear seat has a split on the very top to the right of the speaker grille that is erupting some of the inside foam, driver side bucket has a few small splits, driver side door armrest needs recovering, etc... Carpet is actually nice enough to be reusable. Would be a great interior for a southern or western daily driver quality car that's had the interior burned out of it by the sun and heat. This car was stored inside up until about 5 years ago and then sat outside under multiple tarps. The guy I got it from had owned it for maybe 15 years and finally decided that he was never going to be able to fix it. I felt kinda bad about cutting it up as I'm used to parts cars that literally break in half when you try to move them, but it just needed way too much to make it roadworthy and then there would still be the issue of the rust holes in the frame, the rotten rear lower quarters, the smoking engine, the slipping trans and so on.

I am interested in all keyed cylinders and keys,I just sold a 63 -98-sports coupe with 37,000 on the clock ,worst part of the car ,it was stored in a barn where mice took over ,anyways the person I got the car from ,can not find keys,so I talked with the 16 year old who bought the car,
I told him that I would try to help him find a solution to his problem ,with out breaking his piggy bank ,seems like all of us have been there before, and to see a 16 year old kid take interest in a 63- 98 sports coupe, all I can say is WOW! if you still have keys and cylinders available how much$
thanks so much marc

Lock set and keys have been sold. Still have bucket seats. $300 for the pair. Driver side has power track which I'm keeping as I need it for another project I'm in the middle of. Might be able to come up with a manual track for it so both seats would have tracks.

Side mouldings are driver quality only with lots of pits. I think the pieces behind the rear wheel openings have some rot through on the bottom. Rear bumper brackets are rusty. Would have to dig the stuff up and look at condition.
