Yes I have a new four-speed mounting brackets for the 68 to 72’s $35. and I have a few used automatic ones for 68 to 72 $20 Glass beaded and painted. Thanks
In the 69 assembly manual, for 40233, it says to mount the "install with identification groove below the bracket". This indicates there should be an ID groove? Seems the picture above for the 40233 repro doesn't look like what I would expect. Just trying to understand which is correct.
That picture Is kind of deceiving it shows the tube mounted both ways in the bracket. But I’ve never personally seen the tube mounted upside down in a car before and it says that automatic trans tube is mounted on the head but they mounted down on the frame so I don’t know if that picture is right. Maybe someone else can confirm. My tubes have the groves in them exactly like the originals that i have. Long tube for 4 speed and short tube for auto. Maybe for some reason the 69 A body’s with a 400 how the automatic tube mounted on the head upside down but I’ve never seen one. Thanks for the part number for the G body tube. Thanks Brandon

They're ghosting both tubes on the same bracket and the notes dictate the shorter and longer versions. Picture is correct for the mounting of the tube for NON-AC automatic cars using the 40233 on the back of the head, but whether it actually was groove on top or bottom, I'm not sure what the production direction actually was. AC auto cars have the tubes on the frame. I know without a doubt the non-AC 69 H/O is supposed to have the battery cable running down the valve cover. It gets confusing.
