The G body base holds the mirror at a different angle then the A body mirrors, I think they are taller also. I've seen them mounted on A Body cars a lot. Easy to spot because of how they mount. It doesn't really look that bad. FWIW 70-82 Camaro/Firebird used he same mirrors as 71-72 A body cars.
