NOS FRONT springs. I ordered them for my 1978 Olds 442.
The label on them says: 14029392 BXU
They'll probably fit other years and models. Do your research.
Looking for $90 for the pair, not including shipping.
SOLD!!!! Thanks.

They are FRONT springs.
I found the original tag that was attached to REAR springs in my car. It has the code NFU 494672. NOT the same. The parts and illustration catalog lists this number as standard suspension springs for all A body coupes and sedans with all engines, V6 and V8. My catalog was printed in July 1987 and I purchased these in May 2004 for the car.

That's what I listed in the original ad until I edited it, then I made the last post before this one with the correction. They are REAR coil springs. I "copied" the page (7-20 C) out of the parts catalog. The last column shows the NFU code and part number 494672. See photo.

According to my parts catalog system 14029392 is a front spring, but for some reason the BXU code is not listed... The 494672 (NFU) is in fact a rear spring as you stated and the chart depicts... 14029392 has superceded six other part numbers but 494672 is not one of them... My system shows 460647, 460681, 460683, 14029381, 14080083, & 14080088 have all been superceded by the 14029392 part number...

Both of you are right! They are front springs. I pulled out some photos of the car and remembered that the car sagged a bit in the front. I wanted to bring up the ride height so I purchased the springs and then never installed them. I still have the receipt from the dealership where I bought them but the description only says coil spring. I had too many cars and not enough time. I must have had a brain fart... can't chalk this up to senility... I'm only 51!
These are FRONT shocks!
Going back to edit the original post.
Thanks
