FOR SALE: '69 H/O Wheels set of 5 - SOLD

I have a set of (5) '69 Hurst Olds Wheels that I won't be installing on my '66 442. I would prefer to sell them as a set to someone who needs a complete set of (5) for their car. If they are broken up, it will only be in the following manner. I will NOT break a set of 4 unless I have a buyer for whatever is left. These are the real deal. I sent Kurt photographs and he confirmed that what I showed him are what I am stating they are. I will post them on this site exclusively for a month. All reasonable offers will be seriously considered. Photos attached... thanks - Fred

'69 H/O wheel price

I believe a fair price is somewhere in the $1800-2000 range for the set...

Thanks,
Fred

I'll give you $400.00 plus freight for every set you find me. Must be just like the ones listed

Do yourself a favor and don't make posts like that. The wheels listed only came on 1969 HO cars period. They are very rare and they will bring a big chunk of change from the right buyer.

This is why some sites only allow PMs or Emails to seller. This type of posting on For Sale threads strictly prohibited on other sites. However I enjoy learning as much as I can, as well as helping others.

I hate to tell you guys but if these wheels were in driver condition that's exactly what they are worth. Now they need a total restoration so come to your own conclusions. They aren't repro-ing these and even if they were they wouldn't have the correct date codes. They were only available on the 69 HO's

If not more, and he is offering 5not 4. So yes this is what my bottom line would be on them ($1800 - $2000) if they were mine. These are worth professionally restoring and then asking $4 - $5K for them IMO.

Wow! I knew they were rare but had no idea they were this valuable. Now I feel kinda sheepish for suggesting I'd pay the same price as the 1973-74 15X7 wheels in a different thread

It depends on where you would have them done, if you were gonna have them re-chromed. (4) of them are plenty good enough to run as they are if you're not going for show car. The other wheel would cost about a bill and a half to have that edge straightened back out and re-chromed. It really depends on what you're gonna do with them and where you send them to have it done and how they're going to do it. Local shops vary in price and quality of work. You have to know your chromer... thanks - Fred

yes I did check around and found that the cost to re-chrome them varies from place to place and how they do it. If you're interested in them then make me an offer. If I don't sell them, yes I will either have them re-chromed or clean them up and repaint the center sections and put them on my car. I'm sure they will be put to good use either way... Do you need anymore info if you're really interested in buying them? thanks - Fred

I think we would be too far apart on price . I would be in the 150 a wheel for the good 4 and 100 on the bent one .

I would have to agree with Fire here.

Good luck on the sale though, just WAY to rich for my blood.

Why aren't they? Wouldn't all you have to do is pop out the center and chrome the outer part?

You would have to cut the welds with a lathe to properly take them apart and would have to be trued and welded back together after chromed.

You have to look at it like this - if you are doing a 100% correct restoration of a '69 Hurst and need a set of these to replace the Cragar SS' it came with what are they worth to the owner of that car?
You wouldn't pay top dollar to run them on a '75 Grand Prix.

If they can repo a intake , D , F,H, heads , trim tags, engine pads they can repo a wheel. Plus with the G-60-15 polyglas mounted up you cant see that
date code. Its on the inside lip.

Who is going to go thru the expense for such a limited market?

I see your point, BUT
You'd be surprised what happens when you get a few rounds of drinks on a table full of millionaires . I think Nufo is hopeful for that day's arrival.

I have a friend with a 69 H/O that could really use these wheels. He has had the car since the 70's but can't even buy back all the "one off" stuff that was removed from it after all those years of driving/racing etc. etc.

Think about it: he probably sold his H/O wheels for 60 bucks to help pay for the shiny new cragars he saw in the mail order catalog back in the day.

Now that he is older and not racing anymore with kids, college, mortgage, etc. etc. he won't even be able to restore his car because of its rarity.

If you want to do everything right, it's big money. If you don't spend the big money, your car is Unoriginal and will be poo-poo'd.
Damned if you do damned if you don't.

It all comes down to what makes you happy, and who you're trying to impress I suppose. An all original 69 H/O is a hell of a statement.

I put a set of 4 that were driver quality with 1970 date codes about 10 years ago on Ebay - they sold around $1000. The OP's $$s sound in the ballpark.

Agreed, Not too far off. Where else are you going to find them? Sure you may comb the countrysides and find a couple......but not 5.
