Rebuilt '71 455 .030 over zero miles $800 WI
SOLD
After going back and forth I have decided to let one of my 455s go. This one is a .030 over '71 F block with cast pistons, no miles on the rebuild. I bought this engine together and was told it was rebuilt by the past owner and never run. He said everything was new and it had a high performance cam but he did not know the specs. I pulled the heads off after I got it home since there were no reciepts, turns out the engine was rebuilt and obviously never run. No carbon at all on the piston tops, no ring ridge, cylinders look great. All I have done was pull the heads, I don't know what cam is in it. The heads also look great, springs and seals look new. The heads are off for inspection by potential buyers. It is basically being sold as a complete short block with heads. No intake, carb, exhaust, pulleys, flexplate, etc. The G heads are small valve, I assume this is a big car engine.
I'm not interested in shipping this, if you want to arrange shipping and can have it picked up here that is fine by me, but I don't want to crate it or take it to a shipper. The price is $800, which I feel is a great buy, no room to move on it.

Sorry for the slow response on this. First, not sure how to get it to an out of state buyer. If you'd like to look into having it picked up I'd be happy to meet someone and help load it. As I said I am not interested in crating it and shipping it. If you have any ideas let me know.
I'm in Port Washington, just north of Milwaukee.
It is a '71 as stated.
If I knew all of the history on the engine and had reciepts it would not be $800
Andy, I agree, should be sold. We all know what a set of new pistons run...

Free bump. I want it but the closest anybody I know lives to you is Madison. We're not close enough friends for me to ask him to make a 2 hour drive or I would ask him to come get it. I really just want the short block anyway.

Thanks, I do get to the Madison area about once a month, I have a few buddies there as well. It would not be a big deal for me to throw the engine in the back if that is something you are interested in.
