Rear Bumper (w/exhaust cutouts) 70 Cutlass

Well I have a original 1970 442 rear bumper. I had it powder coated with a chrome-like finish. I figured with powder coat I would never have to worry about rust and it should be durable (especially when the entire bumper gets coated). What I did not figure on is how fussy the metallic finish was. At any rate my wife "helped" me detail the car one day and used an abrasive cleaner to clean the powder coating. It basically "smeared" the finish.

So, long story short. I took 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper and sanded the bumper to a uniform finish. Kind of looks like an argent grey or a dark grey primer.

The bumper is straight with no dents and only a few minor imperfections. But is ready for paint or what have you.

$185 obo plus shipping

I was trying to save a little money by going with powdercoat vs. chroming. But the powdercoater gave me a false sense of durability in as far as cleaning and shine goes. Oh well, lesson learned. It is a good straight bumper and would work well for someone who wanted to have their bumpers the same color as the car.
