These parts were sent from Oldsmobile to A.J. Foyt Enterprises. Mr. Foyt auctioned off his Nascar Oldsmobile parts in the early 90's in Indianapolis. These parts were purchased from that auction.
350 Olds NASCAR block:
Block is in very good condition and has factory 4 bolt mains. Caps 1-4 are 4 bolt and the rear cap has been machined for an internal oil pump. Original rear main had no provision for an oil pump. Notice the very thick pan rails. This block is the ultimate Olds 350 for a high horsepower build. This block still retains it's original factory bore size.
Bore - 3.995
Main bearings - 3.00
Lifter bore - .875
Extra wide pan rails 4 bolt splayed main caps
Olds Stage 2 Aluminum Batten Heads (bare)
Does come with 8 titanium valves, springs, stud's and guide plates for 1 head only.
Olds Eldelbrock Victor Intake for Batten Heads.
Part # 2979. This Intake has factory provisions for thermostat housing. Intake is new and has never been used. Comes with Mr. Gasket # 410 Intake gasket set.
425 Steel Crankshaft. This crank is standard and has not been cut. Counterweights have been machined to fit into the Nascar block.
1 Batten adapter for Exhaust side of head. A second adapter can easily be made from this one original adapter. Only 1 adapter is included in sale.
A.J. Foyt and his crew chief Jack Starne Dyno ran and raced several versions of this NASCAR bock. They tried several different different blocks, heads, stroke, cams and bore sizes. The NASCAR 350 block with Batten heads proved to be a sure winner. What you have here are the basics to build one the fastest pure Olds engines in the country. The rest is up to you and your car.
Sale includes the following:
1 NASCAR 350 block with main caps 1 set (2) Batten Aluminum stage 2 heads
Additional heads parts as described above 1 Olds Eldelbrock Victor Intake 1 set of intake gaskets 1 Standard 425 steel crank with cut counterweights

I am still salivation over the block. I am blown away by the thick pan rails. Some more questions. Is it made of a stronger iron? Siamesed bores? How big can you bore it too. 4.25+ Not a racer, would not take it to it full potential. But would love it in my car.
.
Maybe Joe P and you other experts, can tell us the spec's on this small block bad boy!

The vales are Howard Stewart/Del West Titanium units. Intake measure's 2.180 and Exhaust measure's 1.675.
I Recently pressure tested one head and turned it fine. I am trying to find the original paper work on these parts as it may reveal more accurate info. I have never spoken to anyone who has actually ran one of these setups in the wild. The most accurate documented info I can find is a 28 page write up in the " Oldsmobile In Action " magazine Vol 3.
I will try and copy the write up and post for others interested and documentation for future reference on this site.
Could have bought one from Buddy Baker in the 80s! 5000.00
