Polycast SSIV, and other wheels

Polycast SSIV, and other wheels. Wheels have been sold, thanks for the ad.
OK, I have been advertising these on CL and ebay on and off for about 8/9 months now with no luck. Seems I can't give them away. 1 Polycast has a chunk out of it, I have 4 center caps but they are not nice, 1 of the 5 rims is bent, the trim rings on the set of two are bad. What is in the pic is what there is. So, long story short. $100 firm. These are taking up a lot of room so if they don't sell now I will toss them. Located in Sycamore, il 60 miles west of chicago. no shipping! PM me if interested.

Just a FYI- the trim bands are the same for SSIV and the N82 chrome wheels.
Shame there's no more market for them because they are both truly beautiful wheel treatments, and they dress up any big Oldsmobile.

Great to meet you today Mobileolds. I've very happy with the wheels and they should clean up nice for drivers once I'm done. BTW, those 2 Chrome SSIII's with the cone caps are 4 & 3/4 -All's good though. Maybe I will see if a member here would like to trade 2 of those for 1 SSIV Polycast to complete my set ![Smile](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Keep those babies in the Garage going, They are very cool.
Peace!

So, after a little washing, polishing and a quick test paint on a couple of wheels, I'm super happy! The last picture is me placing my '79 Hurst center cap on the 98 wheel...actually looks good. Can anyone tell me the proper width of the trim ring for the Polycast?

The SSIV/N82 trim band is weird in a way as its inner lip (next to the polyurethane) is angled to fit in that recess. They also install with those heinous rim clips which can sometimes be troublesome to align the valve stem cutout and the wheel weights.
But, there IS a solution. Not 100% factory but works well and no one will be the wiser unless they're really up on the SSIV and N82 wheels. Get a set of 15" trim bands for a 1988-95 GM pickup. They look good, fit well and attach with sawtooth retainers.
You can also use the thin trim rings for 77-79 Ford Polycasts used on Thunderbirds and Cougars. They'll leave the recess between rim and urethane exposed but they do cover the rims and weights, and they're usually a little easier to find than the SSIV rings.
Do the attaching screw holes on the Hurst/Calais centers line up with the screw holes on the N82? That's a neat trick if they do.
