Parts at Carlisle

Edit: Updated List.

It's just over a week to Fall Carlisle. I'll be in spots NA108-109 from Wed afternoon through Sat night. Here's a preliminary list of what I plan to bring, subject to updating when I actually load the truck:

14x7 SuperStock I wheels. These will clear disk brakes. Two have tires of unknown history. I can dismount them before the swap if someone is serious and doesn't want the tires.

Front bumper for a 1964 Eighty Eight. Driver-quality and NOT rusted out at the mounting brackets.

Aluminum hood and hinges for a 1980s RWD Full Size (B/C-body)

Steel tailgate for a 1977-1990 B-body wagon.

Front doors for a 1966-67 four door sedan/wagon/Vista Cruiser.

I have a 67 Vista parts car, but I don't know how much time I'll have to strip parts in the next week. The roof glass is not for sale.

Stay tuned for updates. And definitely stop by and say hi.

If no one speaks for those 64 bumpers I'm interested, but I have a good spare rear so I guess I ought to let someone with a bad one have dibs. My buddy Tim who picked up the CC parts at Spring would pick them up. $$$ ?

Glenn,

I'd like to get $200 each or $350 for the pair.

Also, how do I get someone to drive to swap meets and schlep parts back for me?

I should add that if anyone has specific needs off the 67 VC parts car, let me know. I can't guarantee that I'll have time to pull the parts, but I'll try. I've got some business travel coming up between now and Carlisle, so time is a little limited.

Hi Joe,
I have a 64 Vista that I am finishing up a slow restoration.
Paint guy lost the two small painted trim pieces that cover the weld joint
on the back widow/tailgate pillar just above the tail lights. Was wondering if they are
the same on the 67. Won't be at Carlisle but will pay to have them shipped.
Thanks, Ron

Ron,

Unfortunately the 66-67 cars don't have those pieces. Sorry.

Joe,Was just looking at a picture online of a 67 and saw the pieces I was
asking about. I guess they are further above the tail light than I thought.
They might be different than the 64. They are painted the body color. You have to
remove the chrome trim to access one of the screws that holds it on.
Out of town now, but will try to post a pic when home.
Thanks, Ron

Ron,

Sorry, but this parts car does not have them. Apparently a previous owner eliminated them and and bondo-ed up the area instead.

I think they are 68s, but I'll have to check to be sure.

Tim says he will have room in the Burick Estate Wagon for the 64 88 bumpers. $350 sounds good for an unrotted pair. If no one else speaks up for the rear by Monday, we have a deal.

Considering I have spent as much time wrenching on his cars as I have my own, things work out.

Sounds good. I'll grab some pictures this weekend to confirm the condition, as I haven't really looked at them in a while.

Glenn,

I finally unwrapped the two bumpers that had been stored in the barn for quite a while. Unfortunately, the rear bumper is shot - rust has broken through on both sides. If you have any interest in this part you can have it for free. Otherwise it's going on the scrap pile.

The front bumper, however, is in good shape. The worst problem is that the lower lip is bent up a little below the license plate area. Both parking light housings are still attached. I've included photos. If you still want it, I'll take $175.

Well dang... sounds like the rear is a candidate for scrap pile. I'll send Tim and Marshall to fetch the front. Tim wants your cell # again for contact.
