I was pulling the wide stainless rocker trim off the drivers side and see rust under it. I'm guessing that's what you've encountered on your car. But I'll get some photos for you to consider and see if I have any parts worth messing with. John

 

I have a NOS 78 Toronado passenger (right side) rocker panel in GM package part # 231228..... lmk by pm.

 

2blu, I joined the forum looking for some parts for my Toro. Do you have the vertical taillight assembly on the driver's side, and is it in decent condition? I am also looking for the blinker lever on the column, and the arm-rest for the driver's door. Please let me know if you have any of these items still, and in what condition etc. Thanks
