Correct, the studs were not present on removal. The threads are complete and intact though. Thanks for the interest Scott, I have always thought that these original clamshell mirrors were kind of a pain to locate as well. Based on the duration of my ad, perhaps the aftermarket has made them more commonplace. My approach has always been that personally OE is more preferable over reproduction. Maybe I'm wrong...

IMO - Hard to find, and I feel a great deal - and agree - OE is best and I feel OE will hold their value...good luck
