Reason: Sold
We bought this 442 new from the dealership in July of 1969 with those hub caps. The car has has 44K original miles on it and the caps were never replaced. I guess the dealership changed them out? Thanks for your comment.
How did the '69 wheel covers differ? Seems to me I've seen the wheel covers in OP on several 1969 models over the years.
At some point, these changed from the "Oldsmobile" around the ring to a simple "Rocket" in the center. My '68 Cutlass S came w/ the "Oldsmobile" version.
Both years are similar. A dog dish hubcap was standard. The 1968 14” wheel cover shown above was option P01. It had “OLDSMOBILE” engraved on it.
The 1969 14” wheel cover that was option P01 had a rocket design engraved in the middle of the wheel cover but did not have the Oldsmobile name engraved on them.

Very helpful, thanks. Such a subtle change I may not have even noticed.
