I have a friend who is near retirement and would like to pare down his collection of Olds engines. There are in excess of 150 Olds engines up for grabs here...

Where is he located?

 

I Goggled his phone number 705-456-2806 and it shows Lefroy, Ontario. It's a town on the west shore of Lake Simcoe, just north of Toronto.

 

That's what I call a real collection! Probably not many people with that many Oldsmobile engines anymore. Good Luck with the sales. If he could find a way to get them South of the border and ship from the states he might open the door to more sales.

Just curious, if he has this many engines does he have other Olds parts, or was his collection just focused on drivetrain pieces?

Yes he has other Olds parts as well however most of the collection seems to be heavily weighted towards drive train components. That being said, he does have about five "A" body posi rear ends as well including a 66' or 67' Olds/Pontiac rear, two or three 68 - 72' rears and I believe a 12 bolt Chevy rear. Many full size and A body cars have been parted out over the years and there may be one or two 68' rear quarters hanging around as well as other body pieces etc Every time I go to visit I am amazed at the quantity of Olds parts, bucket seats interior pieces etc.

Put-r-ther Brad !! Not to far from me 45 min drive, this will be well worth a Saturday/Sunday drive for me. If any other members from Ontario would like to meet up some weekend/place/time and cruise up their together that would be great. I know I could sure use the help when looking at them. Please let me know if any guys are interested in this.

Hey guys I spoke with Dennis, 1st off very nice guy gave me so much information as to different combo's etc. I couldn't nail down a date to go up with the holidays etc, He did mention he was going to be taking time off until Jan 12. I was thinking on planning to go up Jan 10 or 11 that would be my earliest date I could make out.
If you guys are interested in that weekend I would be good to go and hook up with others.
I mentioned to Dennis I would give him a call closer to the date .

Sounds good Ted, the place is in Gilford not too far from Barrie, after we get a few responses as to how many of us are going along with the day we could give him a call and meet up some place . Shane is it? (oldzzy) I would give him a call if he hasn't returned your email, would you be interested in going on the 10th or 11th of January?

 

Interested, but it would definitely depend on the weather.

 

He did mention to me between now and January 11 would be the best time, if we can't make it up together not a problem. My wife just mentioned to me that we have something going on the 11th so I would have to make it for Saturday the 10th of January. Meeting up with you guys would be great if we could swing it.

and a good camera with MACRO setting, and get nice clear well lit photos of all them factory distributor stampings. Maybe put a pc of tape on there stating "REAL" so it is clear later what is being shown.

Impressive! It would take roughly 1 million dollars to rebuild all of those Olds engines.
