Rare new-old-stock TCS with the original box! This fits 1970 Cutlass & 442 with 350 & 455 engines, plus some other 70 Oldsmobile applications. These mounted on the passenger side of intake manifold. It is in excellent unused condition and has been dry stored for many years, $150 plus the ride.

This solenoid is operated by a pressure sw. In the trans. When the trans. Hit high gear (3rd) gear the sw. Furnished a gound for the solenoid to entergize it and prevent vacume to the distriputor to prevent timing advance in high gear. SOME BYPASSED IT TO GET THE ADVANCE TO THE DIST. AND BETTER FUEL MILEAGE

 

NDERISE I think you got that backwards. It prevented vac to the dist. adv. unit UNTIL high gear. Soooooooo no adv. in order to meet emission at idle and mid throttle. A way to test if it was defected, was to drive the car in reverse and if it did not back fire or hesitate it was the TCS.
