The burl wood grain pattern is correct for 1970. The console will fit 71-72 also but the wood grain would need to changed. I didn't even know that repro consoles existed. Great deal though. The shifter alone would sell for $500. If I needed it I would be all over it. GLWS

Thanks. I didn't know that about the wood grain but I've never owned anything but a 69. Yeah this is less than I paid for it but I'm in need of money. Hopefully everyone will read your post or I'll have to change the listing.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Are you sure that is a reproduction console & not refurbished original equipment. I also have never heard of anyone reproducing these. The shifter yes, but not the console. If you don't mind me asking where did you get the console?

I'm fairly sure it's a repro but not 100 %. It looks new and all the pieces like the lock and mounting brackets are new. I thought I saw one on OPGI's website. It is a new hurst shifter. I got this at the car dealership where I bought my 69. There shop had it in the box and I bought it thinking about installing it but changed my mind. I don't know where they got it from, I just know it looks brand new.
Also, it is sale pending now.

Yeah, I realize that but I never try to make a huge profit from members of this site. I need this gone and some cash to grab another great deal for myself and I figured that price would catch someone's attention and it did. Plus if someone can use it and it improves their classic that's what it's all about for me. Thanks.

Not that difficult if you wanted to leave the original column in place. You can take the shift handle off but you would still have the gear indicators. Changing that out will be a different story and I don't have any experience with an older car. I changed one out on my 94 Cutlass and after the 3rd try I got it setup correctly.

I received the console but not when expected. The package was delivered yesterday by FedEx. It required signature confirmation I was not there to receive it. I tried everything I could to pick it up from 2 different FedEx shipping locations and was not successful. So I had it re delivered today to a shipping office a couple miles from my house. Anxiously waiting tracking the package every hour. At 11:15 am I received a call from the local Ford dealership saying they found a package in the middle of the street address to me. Keep in mind this box is 49x15x15. I already knew it was my console. The lady said it didn't look like any damage was done over the phone and they would deliver it to me. I had them take it to the store it was originally supposed to be shipped to. I called FedEx immediately and spoke to the manager. Then I went to ask my boss if I could leave but he had already left for the day. From 11:30 to 3:30 was the longest 4 hours. But big thanks to Oldsfever he packed this thing very well no damage was done.

Take a look here for comparable consoles for 2x the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1971-19...1a2185&vxp=mtr

I can tell you, with my experience in restoring consoles, and supplying complete kits/packages,you will have every bit of $1100.00 into the whole thing,by the time you are done.By the time you buy the console, all the parts, then have everything rebuilt, refurbished,or restored, you will end up with that much in it,one way or the other. The ones that H&H have on eBay are pretty nice, but not quite up to mine. They are getting a little more for their time & effort, but they aren't way out there. It may seem like a crazy price, but not really that far off.Try starting from zero, buy every conceivable piece needed, then make it all show-quality,and see how much you have in it when the smoke clears. The one on here was a steal, even if it was half the quality. With the good console cores becoming scarce, and the rest of the parts, you will have more than $600.00 just trying to get the console and shifter. Then it all needs redone, plus new top plates, new wood grain, refurbished shifter assemembly, rechromed handle, and all the other nickel & dime items that add up. My guess is that the original owner of this package had a good bit of money invested in this package, then somewhere along the line,it got dumped for less money,to sell it.I am curious to know who actually did all the work.As far as I know, all of my kits were installed into cars by the people or companies that bought them from me.
