Flywheel? I've never heard of a manual transmission jet boat. But then, I don't know much about jet boats.

I've read that the olds 455 was popular in lots of jet boats. For some reason that I don't know the jet boats always had a manual trans flywheel, maybe for additional mass as when the boat goes into gear it's always under a load ?

Flywheel mass and starter ring would be the two things I can think off.
