hood for sale(not mine)

i saw this on marketplace and thought i would share with those who might need it. not my hood, contacting me will not do either of us any good. just sharing with the group.

One that's actually priced fairly. Given that every 70-72 Cutlass has a repro W25 hood these days, there must be thousands of these sitting in garages.

Of course, that is a 1972 Cutlass S/442 with A/C only application. OK, technically it's not originally from a 442, since it doesn't have the holes for the Oldsmobile script on the left front.

lack of slat openings in the back over the cowl just in front of the windshield.

^^^This. The 1972 cars had four different metal hoods. With and without the fake chrome louvers and with and without the fresh air vents at the base of the windshield.

The vents in the hood allowed fresh air to be drawn in thru the cowl and down to the vents in the kick panels

Yeah, but the question is, why bother to blank them off on A/C cars only in the 1972 model year? The 64-71 cars with A/C all came with the vents, and the A/C worked fine. Given the problems GM already had with the A-bodies in the 1972 model year, this need for different stampings and additional inventory didn't make any sense.
