Free Rusty A Heads 442

For pickup only in central NJ. Came with project and have been outside. I believe they were 442 heads if there is a difference. Complete with 65 style rocker setup. Rusty but I believe salvageable cores. j.blusnavage@att.net

The 442 would have had a letter "V" stamped in one head with several numbers after it. Other applications would have a different letter. I know your ad says pickup only, but if they do have the "V" I would be willing to pay you for your time to package if you would ship them to Oregon. Please look for the stamp and let me know if they do have the V and if so would you consider shipping. John

P.S. this thread has a picture near the bottom showing the location of the stamping.

Ok I can check on the code letter tomorrow and get some picts. Yeah I said free cause I did not want to be troubled with carting etc but we can work something out. The heads came with my project and I already sold the 400 B block. The stick crank was machined for my E block so I am pretty sure these are 442 heads.

Ok V heads see picture. Took wire wheel to mating surfaces. pretty good except for the non stamped head. Pretty bad pitting on block surface. Looks too bad to mill with my eyes. I thought they had valves but do not. Stamped head looks ok for a core other maybe trash. You decide. I figure at least 50 bucks to ship one head and a little scratch for me.... don't know if they are worth it as I do not know history of them. as said they came with my project and were stored in a barn on the dirt floor....what a shame!!

I've got a set of "A" heads from a full sized car, so I could use one of those with the "V" stamp from you. Would you ship the single head plus the rockers and early style hold downs for shipping costs plus $50 for your efforts? John

I don't know if the early style rocker hold downs are repop'ed so I would be interested in them for extras... if they're not pitted.

I'll send a pm with my address. No hurry, just when its convienent to you. John
