FL: 68 OLDS 442 400 engine

Hello olds people,

I'm Steven, I have the 400 engine from my grandfathers 68 442 I'd like to sell, My father got the car in the 80's from my uncle, brought it to Florida, and sometime in the mid 80's the timing chain went bad, car has been gone for 30 plus years. I was keeping it for a future 442 build for myself, due to age and other projects, I now want to sell it to someone that will use it, or needs it. The car came from CT. and was delivered after I was born in March of 68, I know for a fact the engine has 89K miles on it, I remember from the odometer, as you can see the engine is not complete, I'd like to get $750 but open to reasonable offers, Thanks Steven,

Text is fine 32one-277-470five or email harley6869@bellsouth.net Thanks for your time,

Funny thing about the spark plug picture, I found theses plugs in my Grandfathers tool box that I got after he passed, I'm 100% sure these plugs are from this engine at onetime,

Does the engine turn over or is it siezed? Obviously that will make a big difference in the value to someone. Good luck with the sale.

Good question Joe, I will get in there and see if I turn it over, it has been sitting, but I know not outside, I will report back,

I don't really know Olds engines too much, but I assume there's a difference between the manual and auto cars and the cranks, the 2nd to last picture shows the torque converter on the flywheel, thanks

and I also have the original air cleaner for this engine,

May want to add pictures of casting numbers. The one right above the water pump, you're looking for a 396026 G. Big cast C on the left bottom corner of the top sides of each head. There's some on the exhaust manifolds, and right below the valve covers near the middle on the heads, like 3 digits apiece on the head ones. There's a number on the base of the distributor. The vin derivative doesn't matter if the car is destroyed. Automatic cars have flexplates, as they are just starter gearing and a connection for the torque converter, as opposed to the heavy metal disc of the flywheel.
