Core carburetors $75 ea plus shipping photos added 11/14

Once again I'm looking at the collection and thinking I should downsize things a bit. These are core carburators needing rebuilt except the ones noted as for parts only. None of these have been on a running engine for many years. At a minimum they will need a gasket kit but I'd recommend sending them to your favorite rebuilder to go through. The price doesn't include shipping from Oregon. I would use an oversized box with lots of padding to protect the carb in transit. Let me know if you have any questions.

I've had a couple inquiries that shipping was around $50. That seems high to me, yet I want to add enough packing material to protect it in transit. If your interested in a carb please let me know so I can put your name down as first option on it. I'll spend some time trying to get the shipping costs down and after I do I'll comment here some sample shipping costs.

Update, I've shipped a couple in the large USPS flat rate box and they traveled fine. I have room for lots of packaging around the sides which I think stablize the carb, so less on the top and bottom isn't as critical if they don't move in transit.

The carbs that you are selling for "Parts" only. Is there anything missing or some parts are frozen?

Some may be missing parts, some may be frozen up. If you'd let me know which carb curious about I can post picture here or email them to you.

These Quadrajet carbs will fit in a flat rate box from USPS. In some instances dash pots, solenoids may have to be unscrewed from the main body.

True; however; as 2blu442 mentioned he wants to add extra packaging so the carburetors aren't damaged in transit.

I bought a Holley carburetor from Ebay years ago and the accelerator pump linkage pivot point on the throttle plate broke in transit. I "fixed" the throttle plate with JB Weld but I never put the carburetor on an engine and it's still sitting on my workbench to this day.

Well... sorry guys. I had hung these up in the rafters years ago and now that I'm pulling them down I'm finding most are damaged or missing parts. I'll attaching photos of a couple carbs that people asked about.

OK, here's one someone asked about. I thought it was a good clean core but its frozen up and crusty on the underside. The person who inquired gets first chance of refusal, but this is a $35 core in my mind.

Well, this idea hasn't worked out well! Here's the 7043250 that looked grimy but OK hanging from the rafters. But the underside is corroded! Parts only, $35 plus shipping. Ely get first chance to take or pass since he asked about it when I thought it was a good core.

And... here's another parts carb. Its the 7028251 that droldsmorland asked about. Do you want me to pull the top off it to see if the screws/threads are good? Where is the date casting/stamp you are wanting to see?

Wow, I really need the underside because the last person who rebuild the carb did a lousy job rebushing the throttle linkage. Do you have anything similar?

Ely, would the 3255 or 3256 work for you? I'll get them down and see if either of those are in good shape.

If your focused on the base it looks like the 3255 is the same. Here's a photo of each.

Then here's photos of the 3255. Due to the tag on the fuel inlet its been rebuilt at some point. There is teflon tape in the inlet, but the threads don't look too bad to me.

The 3255 looks good. Does the linkages moves freely? Any binding or frozen?

Ely, the 3255 does look good. No binding or problems that I can see. Since its been to some kind of factory rebuilder I can't say for sure if the internals have been messed with. That would be the only wild card, if the jets or rods have been changed.

Ok, I’ll take it. You accept PayPal? How much in total? What’s your email address?

Pics of 17058259 Please

Particularly: confirm it’s 800 cfm with bumps in primary bores, and shot of throttle lever on pri shaft (I actually need an a/t model wondering if it’s significantly different). Thanks

I have shipped one in a USPS large flat rate box. It traveled fine. So if anyone is interested in having one shipped this was in the $20-25 range.

John, do you have a accelerator pump lever and a fuel inlet fitting for the 7040251 carb? Are the threads on the fuel inlet good?

Thanks

Ely, I'm planning to use the carb hanging from the rafters. But do have some other Edelbrock carbs. Is there a specific model/number your looking for?

I have an Edelbrock Qjet #1910 that is rated 850 cfm. They dont make this carb anymore. The ID number has been grinded off. Maybe you have something similar?
