Complete air conditioning for 1957 olds

I have a 1957 olds parts car that has factory air. It is complete and untouched. I want to sell as a complete setup. This is in a 4 door 98. My questions are these: Would everything transfer over to a two door? I was curious how many 57 olds had factory air? If anyone has that info I would appreciate it. If your interested in installing air in your car contact me and we'll talk. Email is imaslowpoke@embarqmail.com and phone is 419-335-5839. I'm in Wauseon, Ohio. This is a complete car so lots of other parts available also. Also have a complete 1957 4 door super 88 for sale. Not running, motor does turn over, pretty nice condition overall. $1500

I am a 57 Olds owner and have emailed you, per the above address, for a glove box light/switch assembly - please let me know if one is available per my request.

Thanks.

I would be interested in the air conditioning vents on the dash, and a radio delete plate if you happen to have them

I have a '57 98 convertible with factory air that is being restored. Do you have any photos of the connectors for the A/C lines in front of the radiator? The restorer thinks mine are not correct.

The original post is from 2009 and the OP has not posted for two years. You may not hear from him and I imagine the AC unit was sold long ago. Then maybe not.

Richard, I have working, original, unmolested factory A/C in my '56. Remember that back in those days, major improvements were made yearly so your system and mine might be designed completely different. Having said that, later today I'll post some pictures of the copper lines and connections in front of the radiator. It might help you!

FYI, if you're doing any research/parts look up on your AC in the Olds manuals during that era, the AC was called C.A.C. back then (Car Air Conditioning).

As promised, here are a couple of shots of the plumbing on my '56 in front of the radiator:

I have no idea if this helps you or not. I have the 55 and the 56 Service Manuals and they did move the Hot Air By Pass valve in 56 from in front of the radiator to the side. As for changes in 57, my advise is to get yourself a 57 Service Manual, available from many sources. That will be the best money you can spend!

By the way, this reminded me that the Eastern Mass GMO show is coming up next week and that I have to grab the can of Twinkle and polish up the copper tubing. A lot of jaws drop when they see that all that copper!
