I recently spent a couple of weeks in central Ohio for work and while there purchased an 84 H/O 200-4r transmission from a fella in Columbus on the OfferUp site. He also has the roller 307 with 76000 miles available. Supposed to be running and driving, changed for a 6.0 swap. I dont need it, but thought that maybe someone here might. Complete engine, realistic price for the right person. I had a good experience with the seller
84 wasn't a roller cam. It was flat tappet with 5A heads, and A4 intake and a 17084554 stamp on the carburetor. Rated for 180 HP. The transmission should be coded OZ with a D5 stamped lockup torque converter. The VIN 9 engine is the top of the heap if you want arguably the best 307 out there. The 86 and 87 442 were roller cams and were rated at a little more torque but 10 less HP than the 83-85 VIN 9 versions.
