72 Cutlass 4 door parts in Mobile, Al

72 Cutlass 4 door parts in Mobile, Al

Hey guys, my mom went to Mobile for a trip and there's a Pull-a-part salvage yard there that had a 72 cutlass listed in their inventory on row 500. I've been wanting to take a trip out there to see if I can salvage anything from the front end for my Vista, but.... as you can see from the pics, there is no more front end. Lol.

So I'm posting some pics that my mom sent me from her phone of the car. If anyone is near Mobile or wants to take a cruise, these pics were taken just this past saturday, May 31st. It's a 4 door, too, and from what I understand they aren't very common, so hopefully, someone will find this information useful. It's $2 to get into a pull-a-part, and you bring your own tools and basically take what you want from the car, and on pull-a-part's website, you can find a list of prices.

Sorry I don't have more/better pics. Mom isn't the best photographer, nor does she know anything about cars. But.... her heart is gold and she cares enough to save me a trip to Mobile!

Nothing much left that's of any value. Thought the dash pad might be good till I saw the left side.

The rear doors are still intact. Might be of value to a guy with a 4 door cutlass.

Doors are expensive to ship though, and like you already observed, these aren't really an in demand car. Looks like it had vinyl roof are one time in its life.

What I need are quarter panels for a 4 door. If these would have been any good I would drive to Mobile to get them.


Love Pull a Part. I got the VIP card and it only costs me a buck to get in.

You have a 4 door in your collection Mike? Or just picking them up for someone? You are the master of GA car collectors my friend.

My first Oldsmobile, and my first car ever(which I still have), is a 70 Cutlass 4 door. Come November I will have had it 30 years.

Cool! Good thing about these is that 70-72 are all the same donors for Town Sedans. Yours is a Town Sedan right? I'm assuming that because of the car in this thread. I would suspect that even CS Holiday Sedans could use the same lower sheet metal for repairs though.

Yes mine is a Town Sedan. I've seen a few Supreme 4 doors but I'm always afraid the contour will be just different enough that it won't look right. I guess if I saw an engineering drawing(and could understand it) it would probably be the same.

Thank you Arrowstorm for the information. I wonder what the condition is of the lone fender, and if it has a positraction rear axle? Surprisingly, many 4-door Cutlasses & wagons have positraction, especially in the snow belt region.

If I had thought about it, I would have asked her to get some pics of the underside of the rear end. Honestly, though, I was more concerned with the front end since I have a Vista Cruiser. She said that fender didn't have any major damage though. From the pic, it looks like a decent passenger side fender minus the scuff marks.

Question about your Vista. It has the larger rear drums and shoes. Do you know offhand whether the wheel cylinders are special or whether they are the same as for the smaller Cutlass?

No Idea. The only parts of a Cutlass I ever pay attention to are the front end and front interior parts.
