71-72 442 Dual Snorkle Air Cleaner

I believe this is a 71-2 442 4 bbl non oai Dual snorkel air cleaner? I don't see any dents. Will need to be painted.

Yes, it's a 71/72 as you say and was offered only for the SMT cars. You're right that it was not for OAI use. It will work fine with AT cars, just that it's not 'correct' if you're going concourse. Where were you when I bought mine 5 years ago??

Learn something new everyday! Guy I got it from said it was off a Toronado, but my internet searching turned up what I posted above. Thanks for the info!

The early Toros did have dual snorkel Air cleaners, but they looked completely different.
1966/67 only IIRC:

This would be hard to confuse with the 71/72 unit you have.

Yeah I knew it wasn't the 66/67 ones, wasn't sure if they offered them on the later years.

1971 442 automatics without OAI used the code NH dual snorkel too.

All 455 4 speed cars without OAI used them in 1972 - no automatics.
