Aren`t the 70 and 71-72 hood latches different? Perhaps anyone with info can chime in.

Im pretty sure the latches are the same maybe the lock mechanism is slightly different? The big difference is the cable: The 70 cable is one piece lever to latch. The 71-72 cable is a two-piece cable joined in the mid point somewhere in the engine compartment with a white plastic factory union.
