70-2 Cutlass Dash Pad--Black
'70-'72 Cutlass/442/Vista Cruiser Black Dash Pad for sale. Description as follows:
>Pad is black originally and I've refreshed the color with SEM Landau Black, adhesion promoter and proper cleaning beforehand.
>Never cracked and the original black surface wasn't dried out, chalky, etc.
>Overall it's pretty good---not a bunch of sagging over the gauge area. Down the length of the pad it also looks good.
>All mounting studs and bosses intact and not broken
>At some point someone had glued on the bright bead moulding with some sort of superglue. Some of that got out of the "channel" where the bead sits...just below it. Thus, there are some small areas where I was able to remove that glue but the texture there isn't perfect (approx 2"long over on the P side and another small area and then a vertical spot next to the D side AC vent opening). If anything, the texture is a bit smoother in these spots. Also--on the part of the dash that "overhangs" this bead channel there is some "smoothing" of the texture...not as noticeable as you don't see as much of that area when the dash is in place.
I can provide close up pics and measurements of these areas so you know the extent of it.
>The area around the headlight pull that protrudes outwards...there is a slight "warp" at approx the 4 o'clock position...not a terribly bad spot but not absolutely perfect either (see pic below--I drew in a white arrow pointing out this spot).
Put it in a concours car?? No. But it's a nice pad for a driver type car.
$100 + shipping. Regular check or MO....no paypal.
Thanks

sorry---sold it some time ago. I have another that's in very, very nice condition but probably have it sold locally. If for some reason the guy here doesn't follow through I will likely post it for sale here. It will be substantially higher priced as well.
Thanks for inquiring. You shouldn't have a huge problem finding a decent original black dashpad as they survive fairly well.
Do yourself a favor and edit your profile so it shows your location.....many times people see that and you end up finding parts fairly local and save a lot on shipping.
