69-72 Hood Hinges blasted and painted

I picked up some Eastwood Zinc Phosphate color paint and wanted to test it out. These hinges were not loose and sloppy and had no rust on them. I glass bead blasted them and painted them to see how it would look. The springs i painted gloss black. May not be nice enough or "correct" for a show winning car but did turn out nice. Would like to get $80+shipping for them just to cover the time i have in them.

Nice job Eric. I found beadblasting is the way to go cleaning these parts too! You're giving me a reason to redo mine (they don't need it but WTH). How difficult was it to remove those springs and re-attach them?

Is that the spray from a rattle can or did you use HVLP?

It was rattle can, It has a little more texture than original but i think that was from the primer. The springs come right of with not much effort. a screw driver will pop them right off and on. You could likely do it by hand.

Date code? I see nothing for a date on them. I took them off of a 70 cutlass dated 07A.

I always use a chain for removing and installing the springs. Wrap the last link around the end of the spring and CAREFULLY pull off the spring. To install, merely reverse the process. If the springs are fresh, wrap with blue painter's tape.
BTW, sorry to hijack the thread, but always eager to lend a tip or helping hand.
And......Eric, they look GREAT!!! And I'm still interested in "you know what"---

I have some PMs that i will reply to when i get home from work. Just to let everyone know, I feel like the paint will want to scrape off at the pivots. It is not like the original Zinc Phosphate but I think it will still hold up well.

Back by popular demand, lol. This is the last set i am going to redo (other than the ones for my car). I have more time in them than worth what i am getting out of them. I deleted the PM's i had so i don't know who was next inline so first one that wants them... I painted the springs on this set aluminum but i don't like it. I am not sure what color they were originaly. If you want them gloss black like the last set i did let me know. I have another set of springs blasted and just need paint. Again, I am sure the paint will wear around the pivot points but still look nice. This time i want $95 shipped.
