68-72 Carb/Throttle Cable Hookup Kit - 70Post Resto Part

This kit replicates the factory parts used to attach the throttle cable to the carb on '68 - '72 Oldsmobiles (may work on later years but I need to check the style of throttle cable used).

This is for the throttle cables with the LARGE OPEN LOOP on the carb end - works with both the original and the "correct" style repro cables (see first pic below - the top cable is one of the "correct" style large loop cables and the bottom cable is a factory original with the same large loop).

NOTE: There is one version of the repro throttle cables out there that DOES NOT have the LARGE loop on the carb end....this kit is not made for use on that throttle cable. That throttle cable just has a small tab on the carb end of the cable that goes directly onto the stud on the carb linkage (no bushing or grommet is used). It's not correct and may be the source of some cable binding problems some people have reported in the past on repro cable.

The 70Post Throttle Cable Hookup Kit comes with the inner sleeve/bushing, grommet, flat retainer washer and TWO small hairpin cotters (one extra in case you lose one as they are fairly small).

$31 shipped to the lower 48 states. PM me for payment options.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you need one of my Gas Tank Pads along with one of these kits, it will all fit easily into the box I use to ship the Gas Tank Pad and I'll knock a couple bucks off the price of the throttle cable hookup kit....SEE the link below my signature line for my Gas Tank Pads. Thanks

If both items are still available, would be interested to know what cost would be for both.
Needed for 1971 Delta Royal convertible.

1968 didn't use that style but it will directly replace the '68 style cable. I will keep you in mind when I drop my gas tank for replacement. Thanks and take care.

It's nice when you buy something and it fits and functions as it should. This kit definitely meets that criteria.
Purchased and installed on a 70 442 and now the throttle is like new!
