468 Oldsmobile For Sale

Hi all, I need some help selling my Olds motor. Itso roughly 500-550 HP, thats what the machine shop estimated. I had it disassembled. Needs about 2k to make it a running motor again. I'm going a different route and would like to sell all the parts/ pieces at a fair price. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Location, what's wrong w it, why was it disassembled and what block, crank, heads and other work done would help potential buyers make a decision?

I had it disassembled because my oul pressure was low. I found out it blew two head gastkets and detonated a piston.

These are the only pictures I have right now. I am located an hour north of San Francisco. I have no idea what its worth. The machine shop said around 2500 would do it with new pistons, port and polish, and reassemble ready to run. Need to sell. Im open to whatever is a fair price for all this. Thank you for the help so far guys!

Im not.opposed to parting out. I would rather drop the price for a total package. I don't want to get stuck with random parts. Anyone intrested in throwing out a decent.number in there opinion???

Those look like stock rods that someone spent a lot of time polishing the beams on, but that's just a guess. Are the piston pins floating on the rods or pressed into the center?

Is the crank a forged 455 factory unit? Are there any casting numbers on it? Figuring out what these parts are will help determine a lot of the value.

I apologize for the lack of info here guys! I know the crank is an after market forged crank. I'll look this weekend in my pile of receipts i was given. Also ill try and find any numbers or markings on the parts. Thank you all for the help.

I'd say any 455 from 68-76 will work just fine!

Like Madmax said any 455 block up to 76 will work. That high nickel block story is just bull sh-t. Good luck with sale and your search for a block near you. I have two empty blocks but i am in Kansas.

Yup the nickel thing has never made any sense to me! Nickel is a soft and malible metal! Maybe it makes things stronger if you mix a bunch of metals together but I don't see it!
