32 Starter Solenoids For Sale New/Rebuilt
I came upon 32 starter solenoids and 16 solenoid springs that were left behind in a building formerly occupied by a Pontiac supplier. I am willing to sell individually, in multiples or the entire group. Here is what I believe I have.
There are 2 sizes of solenoids; ones that are approximately 4" tall from the metal face to the flat surface on the plastic cap and shorter ones that are around 3.1" measured the same way. The shorter ones have a plunger bore of approximately 1 1/8" and the taller ones have a plunger bore of 1 1/4". I'm told the shorter ones fit late 70's and up. And that the larger post for the starter field lead may indicate they are for a high torque starter. The taller ones are pre late 70's.
The shorter ones do not have any markings on them at all.
Of the tall ones, 12 have black caps and the Delco Remy symbol in the center of the plastic cap. I tried to get a photo but my camera doesn't do well on close shots hence the poor quality photo. Also of these 12, they have what appear to be date codes on the tab that locks into the starter. 6 are coded 1G4, 2 are 1E5, 2 are 0J3 and 2 are 1A2.
I also have 3 tall ones with brown caps and I tend to believe these are restored or rebuilt units. These also contain the Delco Remy symbols in the center of the plastic cap. Of these 3, 2 have part numbers and date codes; 1 is 1114396 with what looks to be 12A5 and the other is 1114458 coded 9F4. The third brown cap one has no markings. These bodies look to have been blasted and replated which is where I get the belief they have been rebuilt. Outside of these 3 looking to be rebuilt, I believe all others are new.
The 16 springs are 1.75" in diameter and approximately 2" tall.
I'll take $25 ea for the 2 rebuilt ones with the part numbers and date codes, $20 each for the others and $5 each for the springs. I'm also open to an offer for everything. Shipping would be extra.
