Any 64-67 A Body Rears set to go like this one!

I've been looking at GM A Body "bolt in" Ford 9" rear ends from Moser and Quick Performance to replace the single trac rear in my 65 Cutlass. However, a nice GM unit like this for my model year would be even better as far as keeping my original brakes, E brake cables and so on. I know you are one of the Go To guys for rear end components on this forum and others. Do you have the parts to assemble a 64-67 width rear end? Can I send you a deposit or something to build one? You can PM me anytime, I go to this forum just about everyday for something to do.

FYI 64-65 olds is narrow by 1" versus 1966-1972 width. 64-67 Chevy is narrower by 1" than 68-72.

You can run this rear end in your 65 with no issues. Just get rear rims with more bs to compensate.

I already have some 15 x 8 SSI wheels on the back and the BS is perfect with the stock width rear end. I'm afraid that the 1" wider will push the tires out into the outside fender lip. Is a 66-72 rear 1" wider total, or 1" wider per side?

With more money we can make a custom 1" narrower rear with the 8.5 and Moser Race 30 spline axles that will take Gobs of torque IF you need and can afford. JIm

1" wider TOTAL or 1/2" wider on each side.

You need to measure the negative back spacing on the rim
you will need 4.5 - 5 inch to be safe.

I have 4.5 on mine and 295 50 15 15 x 8 rims on a 1971 Monte Carlo ss Which has a fender skirt look to the rear 1/4. DID NOT chop the original 1/4 panel lip at all.

Another important thing you need to make sure your BODY is centered on your frame.... I have seen this plenty of times on old cars that the body has shifted on the frame. Jim

You need to measure the tire to outer lip of the 1/4 panel in the closest spot and you will need at least a 1/2" side to side and 1" up down.
