1975 Cutlass salon with y76 GMO option for parts or whole.
Just picked this up last week. 1975 Cutlass salon with Suspected GMO option. No GMO badges but the car has had some paint work done & maybe they were removed?
No engine or trans. Mirrors are spoken for.
Nice green dash, white interior with mostly crumbly parts, black seat belts, decent rear seat, good wheel well trim, good rocker trim, good glass & trim, nice rear bumper, very nice trunk lid, nice hood & doors, pass fender seems nice. Car and parts are in Indianapolis, come pick up or I can ship about anything.

At first glance they appear to be pretty nice. I do remember seeing a small nick or small dent or two but will get pictures soon. I got your previous message and have been trying to make it all happen.

hmm, either I haven't been watching or this is the first time I have seen a car with this option package parted out.
Other than the chrome mirrors, rear quarter windows and GMO stickers are there any other GMO specific parts?
Somewhere I have a set of these mirrors... hmm now which box did I put those in?

70,
I don't know much about these cars but I'm sure others do & hopefully they will chime in.
Gary,
Here are the impact strips. All of them have a couple/few nicks. Take a look & let me know if they interest you.

I am interested in the dash vent *****, vacuum modulator for the a/c (little black box under the dash behind the glove box with small hoses going in/out), and rear metal valance with the back up lights/reflectors/gas door. If you could PM me prices I would appreciate it

Other than the chrome sport mirrors, the other Y76 specific parts are the rear quarter window filler panels, some of the vinyl top stainless trim, and the SSII argent silver wheels (same wheel as used on other Cutlasses, just painted argent silver).
An interesting fact about the quarter windows is these cars used full Cutlass S quarter window glass, and Oldsmobile just put a spot welded sheet metal panel over part of the window to make the smaller quarter window. A cardboard, foam, and vinyl filler panel was used on the inside. Take the inner and outer panels off and you will find brand spanking new quarter window glass!

Gary is correct about the glass. I removed the inner panels & it is the large window that has mostly been covered up on the outside & inside. The rear of the glass is loose in the opening of the roof, no sealant or caulk or anything. No water can get in because it's covered up by the vinyl top on the outside.

Tlo,
I pulled the entire dash the other day & have all the components out & ready to go. Everything seems to be in good condition, pictures coming soon. The fuel gauge seems real nice if I remember right. I was going to restore it ($63.00 shipped) & sell it or as is for $37.00 shipped to you assuming you like the pictures?
Here are some examples of restored ones.

Thanks,

75 Cutlass parts
I can see the front bumper was hit, but what shape is the rub strip on the front bumper? The one on my car has the rubber peeled off the corner. As far as I can see it is still intact.

rekain,
IIrc, the driver front corner has a little chip? out of it. I'll try to get better pix tomorrow or Monday.
Tlo,
Sorry for the delay, it has the regular fuel gauge with idiot lights, not the rallye pack gauges. It seems to be pretty nice though & I can test it or restore it or sell as is if you're interested. Also, I have some nice restored floor shift speedos for your car if you want?

Rub strip removal
Unbolt the bumper from the car where the shocks bolt to the frame. Then remove the bolts along the bottom, & the nuts along the top that go into the studs from the rub strip. There are 2 blind studs in the rub strip that are held by clips that can only be accessed by separating the chrome outer bumper from the inner support. Remove the 2 center bolts from the support will allow the outer shell to be removed. The clips are similar to what you would see holding a drum or rotor to a new car during assembly.
