1970 Olds W-30 Carb- #7040258 Rebuilt
Just thought I would post this link to an ebay auction on a 1970 W-30 Carb that my bro is selling. It's in really nice condition.

Guys if you have any questions post them on the ebay ad...my brother is away but will answer in the evenings. I just don't know this stuff very well as a newbie and can't answer questions with any real knowledge or certainty. Thanx

what about Me
what about the one i just purchased ? No RK or any assy code and dated 73?
Is this a service replacement or a restamp by a "Moron"
If its a service replacement is it worth anything more than a 70 carb.

Luna, that's a wacky looking "8" stamped in there but it does look like a service replacement, and no obvious grinding of the stamp pad. I'm sure its more valuable than a standard carb and being rebuilt, if done right, that was a fair price.

They did offer/sell service replacement carbs even after that particular year was over. The one above looks like the one Luna got on ebay, which is some type of service replacement. If either one of those carbs on there were the original thing, the bids would have been much higher. However, the service replacements might have been built with the correct pieces,or the same pieces that the originals were built with,as far as the top, body & base go.I had a service replacement that was dated 3160,so it was made in 70,but the 71 models were already into production by then.It also did NOT have the RK suffix.
