Olds442redberet: That style mirror is 69-70' only. The 71-72' are NOT polished stainless, but are painted flat black.

Dave, I thought the cutoff for the polished mirrors was 71 and black started in 72.
I noticed this back in high school (1980) when I was driving my 70 and had friends with 71s and 72s.

Not to argue with DaveB but 1971 Cutlasses definitely had the stainless front mirrors. Black fronts were on the 1972 cars.

One way you can tell for sure, not that it really matters, but the Vista Cruiser has a shorter stem or arm than the two door Cutlasses.
