Here's a pic of a W31 balancer, two inches thick, much thicker than a regular 350. All 350's had #5 heads whether W31 or low compression, the W31 having the larger valves, 10.5:1 pistons, and high lift cam. The four barrel carb was standard on the Supreme, and optional on the F85 and S, numbers for the carb would be specific to a W31. It could be the 10.25 compression 310 hp motor, so having #5 heads and a four barrel does not make it a W31. Really the only way to know for sure would be to have paperwork from the car from which it was removed.

There's no P/N on the backside of the balancer?

The std. balancer is no where near 2" thick, so if his is not 2", then it ain't one.

Yes, W-31 balancer is just shy of 2" thick and has HT stamped in a square depression on the front and HT-1668 stamped in the recess in back of it.
