1969 AM-FM Stereo Radio Cutlass, 442, Hurst Olds
*******SOLD********A fairly rare radio. 1969 was the first year that a true "STEREO" radio was offered in the "A" body Olds cars. Model # 93AFM1. Both the radio and multiplex unit have matching serial numbers: 32-04580. The chrome is nice, the pushbuttons and manual tuner work fine. The STEREO light comes on with a stereo broadcast. It plays good on both AM and FM. Plays strong from the front speaker, a bit fuzzy from the rear speaker. The multiplex adapter may just need an adjustment. Any 51 year old radio would benefit from a professional internal cleaning and tune-up. The multiplex unit has all the correct mounting brackets. These are quite often missing. The center plastic alignment stud is missing on the multiplex plug
. Very common. The 9 pin wire still holds firmly into the adapter. Please note that the ***** and pushbuttons have a bit of fancy extra red paint on them. A good radio, an honest description. $439.00 plus shipping. Check or money order. PM me if interested.

This is an interesting and somewhat rare option for 1969. I have the same radio in my '69 4-4-2 and it's nice to have. Just a word about the plug that goes to the multiplex unit - the center piece of my plug is also broken off ad I couldn't get the plug to stay in the multiplex unit - it kept falling out. To solve that problem, I devised a bracket to hold it in. I used the screws in the multiplex unit to hold the bracket in place. No big deal - it's just that I did need something to keep the plug from falling out.
