1969-72 Hurst Olds, W30,W31,442 OEM Spoiler

This was taken off a '70 W30 car many years ago that was wrecked and garage stored since. Three factory mounting studs and heavy. Could use a little body work to make it perfect again. I have only sprayed on one coat of black primer to cover up some of the scratches. Deserves to be on a car and not hidden away. $455 shipped in US. Please contact Ken at (805) 886-7634, text is best.

Did some of the 70/71 factory spoilers come with just two mounting studs on each side?

Just asking about different mounting designs since my brother bought a new spoiler at King Oldsmobile's parts department in late 1971 for his '71 442. It has two studs on each pedestal. Thought maybe there were changes in design during production, not unlike other parts and accessories.

Factory deck wings used 3 holes. This page from the Cutlass Assembly manual shows the locations. (and instructions for 6 holes) The deck wing was never offered on CS models, only fastback models.

And yes, the repops only have 2 mounting studs.

If I could find the mounting instructions that came with my brother's OEM spoiler, it showed where to drill the four holes.

The repops from Fusick have the 3 studs like the factory ones

Not the one I bought. It was 2 studs, same as all the repops. I sold it years ago since it's not correct for 72.

Is the spoiler that the OP is selling correct for a 72?

No 1972 Olds A body left the factory with a deck lid spoiler. It's not even listed as an RPO. People add them all the time though for aesthetics.

Is it correct for 72? Not if you're maintaining original look.

My 72 W-30 got a W-35 spoiler added at the dealership when sold new. You are correct that no 72 left the factory with the W-35 spoiler but more than one 72 left a dealer's lot with one.

Allan will we see you at the 25th annual Rocket Round Up this year?

Is it the 25th annual already? I'll try to make it this year. It will depend on some other life events though. It would be great to see all the cars gathered again. Which one are you bringing this year? I'd love to see the 72 Radiant Green or your new 73 black/white

If my work schedule permits my attendance I will be driving the 1973 442.
