Exactly, one of the screws that holds the liner is used to mount the light. The orange wire is the power source and the white wire plugs into a plunger switch , similar to the one that turns on your dome light when the door is open.

I realize this is an old thread, but does anyone know if this part came from the factory in black as pictured on a 1972 model?
I'm asking because most I see are clear, but mine from my 1972 Cutlass S 442 - is black/clear like the one for sale here. I assumed the old owner painted it, but now I'm thinking maybe it came like this from the factory.
