65 is different than the 66, which one do you have?

 

Supposedly a 1965
Roger told me he removed it from a 65 OLDS 442
Breather has snorkel with the small hole in the side of it and rubber gizmo installed there (passenger side on 1965 442)
But the chrome lid has FRONT embossed on top as did the 66 - 67 air cleaner I had

 

 

I got this air cleaner in California off a '65 442, weirdest thing, obviously stamped wrong from the factory. Looks like a cross between a '65 and '66.

There's a Service Bulletin that talks about this exact mis-stamped air cleaner problem. Dealers were supposed to mark out the incorrect "FRONT" and stick on a decal in the correct location.

 

Check the air cleaner base, small hole is for the ‘65 only 4G carb. I think late ‘65 changed to the Q-jet with the larger opening.

 

The base Does have the smaller hole for the 4 Jet Carburetor
