1964 Oldsmobile Big Car Rear Bumper SOLD

1964 big car (except 98) rear bumper new car take off more than likely. It has damage to the passenger side but the brackets are not rotted thru. The bumper has been stored for many decades. It will need to be rechromed or use as a driver bumper as is.
As most know these are hard to find in any usable condition because of rust thru. Look at the photos and decide for your self if it is something you want for your ride.
$700.00 or best offer SOLD
Shipping

something this large and heavy could get rather expensive so pickup is strongly encouraged. Waukesha WI 53189

Good price on a non-rotted core.

64 88/Starfire folks, here's your chance. If you have ever looked for one of these (or any 62-68 FSC rear bumper) you know most are rotted thru where the brackets weld to the bar. That little drain hole at bottom of the brackets didn't help much once it got packed with dirt.

But the cars had that smooooth custom look!😎

I had a little time today so I cleaned the bumper up with polish.
You can see the weld penetration on the face of the bar for the brackets.
I'm sure that wouldn't pass a a car show.

That may have been why it was taken off years ago. That sure did clean up nice. Hard to fathom no one needs one. I have to chalk it up to "ignance" as they say in "Bawlamer".

I think it is there damage near the passenger backup light opening. The chrome on the top of the bar is spiderweb cracked.
I do have a few folks thinking about it but yea find a better one.

If I didn't already have two spares they wouldn't have time to think about it!😼

I'm trying to give someone else a chance at one of the better ones I've seen. These bumpers are very difficult to find not rotted.

I'm not out of space yet so it can sit for a few years. If I still have it this spring I'll have it dipped to remove the rust and maybe send it to my chrome shop.

I thought of doing the same on mine Paul but then into it at best another 700. Might be even harder after the markup to sell. It’s fickle. Guys turn them down until they find out solid cores are next to impossible. Then after a couple years you get 2 or 3 calls the same week praying you still have it. I sold a really nice 63 rear a month ago after having it for years. Two days later get a call from an accident incident pleading to sell to them. Oh well.

Well I thought this would go fast, go figure. If it isn't sold by the end of the month I'm just going to scrap the thing along with a few other bumpers.
I do not have room to store indefinitely
