Hello Critter,
Can you post pictures or casting numbers from your engine? The last year the 394 was used was in 1964. In 1968 Olds used the 350, 400 and 455.
Also the powerglide was a chevy transmission, Olds 2 speeds were called a super turbine 300. A photo of the transmission would also help us identify it for you. John

A two speed would not be coupled with a 394 or the 455 of '68 and later.

... And anyone buying a large heavy item like an engine would be interested in knowing where it is located.

A two speed transmission was never used in a 98 either.

When the heck did they ever make a 394 in 1968? Last one I remember was late 64. Maybe I'm on crack or something but thats my memory at least.

I can understand about wanting serious inquiries only, since after all, it must be one of one... Hopefully the OP will repost with some better information...

Surely, you jest!

I am not joking, and don't call me Shirley!

Maybe he meant 19-FIFTY-eight, but unless he comes back we'll never know.

If he did, it would be as rare as a 1968 394, would it not?

What is your location as shipping may be an issue.

Good luck on your sale. I think your price is on the high side unless the engine is in lots better condition that it looks. As Eric pointed out, shipping is a consideration.

Looks to me like its about a $300 item - eh?? (or less)?

Would this be considered a 'serious inquiry"?

Let me know when you see a re-buildable 394 for $300 or less.
I just paid $650 for one with all accessories and I thought I got a bargain!
