1961 394 engine - disassembled but mostly complete

I think this is a 1961 394 engine, block number 577476-4 1/8. Good candidate for a rebuild? Bores are still stock. Crank spins freely. The previous owner disassembled it for a project but never got around to it. I bought it as a pile of parts and mocked it up as an engine for the photos (and admittedly because it's fun to see it more or less whole). It was stored indoors during his ownership and mine. Includes stock pistons and rods. The heads are #20 and were also disassembled but come complete with rockers/shafts, valves, springs, retainers, etc. What you see is what you get. Includes what I assume to be stock Roto-hydramatic flywheel. $100 o.b.o. Located in West Haven, Connecticut. Thanks!

Price lowered again. $100. I really need the garage space but want to see this engine/these parts go to someone who needs them. Hate to have to scrap any of it! Let me know if you need any of the individual parts.

Bringing this back up to the top.. Anyone need parts? I'm willing to part these out. I'm in Connecticut and will ship stuff if I can.

I've got a pair of 394 engines mostly disassembled. Many Olds parts.

2 394 engine blocks, one 1961 and one 1964, block numbers 577476-4 1/8 & 585786-4 1/8.
2 sets of heads, #20 & #23 heads
1 set 394 pistons and rods
1 set 371 piston rods
1 394 crankshaft
2 oil pans
4 valve covers
1 automatic flywheel
2 exhaust manifolds
1 cast iron timing cover with water pump
1 lower flywheel cover w/ starter mount
1 394 distributer and oil filter adapter
1 pair rocker arm shafts with rockers
1 set 394 valves
2 valley covers
2 oil pumps
Assorted bolts, plugs and other small items

Thanks for looking.

It's too bad no one is buying them. I'd love to take them off your hands but I can just about fit my car in the garage and have no where else to store them. I wouldn't want to leave them out in the weather and get ruined.
How much for the distributor, timing chain and one set of the valve covers providing they are all good? And would you happen to have a coil? This would be for my 1961 394.

I may be interested in some parts. Is the intake manifold for the 61 set up for 2 bbl or 4 bbl? Are the exhaust Mainfolds the crossover type or set up for dual exhaust?

Hello Supernice88, I've since sold the distributor and valve covers, but still have 2 different timing chains. Do you need the cam sprockets too? I've got an original looking coil too. How about $40 for a timing chain (with sprocket?) and the coil shipping included?

Hi Mickey61, I don't have an intake manifold for the '61 but do have a 2 barrel intake from a '64.
The exhaust manifolds are unfortunately the crossover style.

Sounds reasonable for that price. Probably a good idea to take the sprockets too. You say two different chains, any idea which chain my engine would use? The engine is running but having an issue which a mechanic thinks could be related to the timing chain being worn. How should I pay you? I no longer have a paypal account.

Sorry, I shouldn't have said "different" timing chains.. I meant I have two. They are identical! Supernice88, message sent. Thanks!
