12 bolt Oldsmobile Yukon Dura grip Posi units coming in next week
If you were one of the people that messaged us a few months ago.... WE ARE FINALLY getting them in...only 10 units though.
they are 28 spline
Hold 3.08 and 3.23 stock GM gears
They will also hold all the aftermarket 3.42, 3.90 and 4.10 ratios.
685.00 EACH wish they were less....

I figured for the super price I got a set of very nice used 3.08 gears, I would get this posi. I actually ordered one online somewhere else two months ago. It was over $200 cheaper but Crickets from the seller and a PayPal claim filed. Jim thought I was throwing around money when I sent him payment. He looked at Canadian dollars amount. It was over $1000 in Canadian dollars shipped! Jim shipped it right away, already across the border👍.

 

IIRC, I spent around $500 for the modified 8.8" Ferd posi from Supercars back in 2006 for my type-O. So this seems like a very reasonable price.

Is it possible to get one in 31 spline and put it in a 70 28 spline housing?....

 

YES, You will need a 672 carrier with conversion bearings ...or After market posi 31 spline and again conversion carrier bearings
Axle shaft we can have custom made by MOSER ENGINEERING also...you can still use stock axle bearings... BUT will need to know if you have a 1970 housing or a 67-69 housing for the correct axle bearing choice.

Damn I wish I knew what I had and what I needed (and how to do the conversion). My 1 legged 442 needs more tire smoke ability.

 

Do you still have yukon posi units at $ 685?

Hello, is this unit correct for my 1970 rear end with 588 carrier. I’m looking to do 3:42 or 3:91 gear ratio.

 

It is a 12 bolt olds posi - aftermarket Yukon...BUT it will not hold the gears a 588 Factory unit will carrier.
It is a different carrier break. 588 holds factory 3.42 3.91 4.33 4.66 5.00 FACTORY ratios
The Yukon unit holds 3.42 and 3.90 Aftermarket richmond and or yukon gears. AND FACTORY 3.08 or 3.23 FACTORY ratios.

 

I’ll be running a 3.42 so sounds like it will work. $350 seems like a pretty good deal. Thank you very much for your help.

 

no THAT unit you are picturing is a bop 28 spline 8.2 posi not a 12 bolt oldsmobile posi that will not work with 67-70 12 bolt cover 10 bolt ring...sorry.
